John Denver, a singer-songwriter who hails from Colorado who specialized in folk music, inspired millions of people. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell New Mexico. He was enthralled by Colorado. The singer-songwriter eventually settled in Aspen. Denver's state anthems inspired people to travel to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated it was because John Denver is the only musician to truly embody Colorado. Denver was a member of the Hall of Fame as its the first member in 2011. Denver has been the symbol of the state to people all over. When you encounter people from other countries, like New Zealanders and ask them "I am Colorado" and they say "I am from Colorado" then they reply with Oh John Denver. Brown explained. Take Me Home Country Roads is Denver's only Top 10 Hit as a Solo Artist after working in small Folk Music Groups. The song was composed with Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the track to Johnny Cash but Denver recognized the song's potential after hearing it first. The song was recorded a couple of days after playing on stage in Washington D.C. before an large crowd who were very appreciative.
